We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting production through effective maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement of site machinery and equipment. The Role
As a Shift Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery and production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Working closely with production teams, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and site equipment
- Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical faults
- Support continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency
- Work closely with operations teams to identify and resolve recurring issues
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and documented accurately
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and improvement works when required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience working as a multi-skilled maintenance or shift engineer within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
- The ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions under pressure
- A proactive mindset with a focus on reliability, safety, and continuous improvement
Highly Desirable Experience
