About the Role
Centric Talent are looking to recruit an experienced and talented Warehouse Team Leader on behalf of one of our clients who are a leading distributor of bathroom, kitchen and plumbing products. We are looking for a confident and hands-on Warehouse Nights Team Leader to help drive our clients picking operation during the night shift. This is a key frontline leadership role where you will keep the operation running smoothly, ensure orders are picked accurately and on time, and create a safe, productive environment for your team.
You will lead by example on shift — motivating colleagues, solving problems in real time, and stepping up to take operational control whenever the Nights Supervisor is unavailable. If you thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment and enjoy leading from the front, this could be the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keeping the Shift on Track
- Deliver the nightly picking plan to meet dispatch deadlines
- Allocate labour effectively across picking zones
- Monitor live performance, accuracy, and completion rates
- Take quick corrective action to keep service on track
- Escalate any risks to safety, service, or compliance promptly
- Motivate, guide, and support picking operatives throughout the shift
- Ensure tasks and expectations are clearly understood
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Support training and onboarding of new team members
- Enforce safe working practices and site rules at all times
- Challenge unsafe behaviours and stop work where necessary
- Maintain high housekeeping and PPE standards
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents correctly
- Maintain high picking accuracy and minimise errors
- Carry out spot checks and basic audits
- Support investigations and corrective actions where needed
- When deputising for the Nights Supervisor, you will take responsibility for:
- Coordinating the shift and making operational decisions
- Completing clear shift handovers
- Maintaining standards, discipline, and operational control
What We’re Looking For
- Essential
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution picking environment
- Previous team leadership or senior operative experience
- Strong understanding of productivity, accuracy, and dispatch deadlines
- Confident communicator who can challenge standards constructively
- Calm, decisive approach in a fast-moving night operation
- Experience deputising for a Supervisor
- Familiarity with WMS and handheld scanning systems
- Experience working in a KPI-driven environment
