Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Project Manager to join our Big Change Programme team within the Finance & Corporate Services directorate. Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, this role will take ownership of delivering key projects within Centrepoint’s flagship Big Change Programme (BCP) - a major digital transformation initiative designed to modernise systems, improve ways of working and support the organisation’s long-term strategy.
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex digital transformation projects, with a particular focus on the implementation of a new People system. You will be responsible for managing projects end-to-end, from planning and governance through to delivery and transition into business-as-usual operations. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
As part of the wider Big Change Programme, you will also contribute to strengthening project management capability across Centrepoint and embedding robust governance, risk management and delivery practices. This is a high-impact role, combining hands-on project delivery with the opportunity to shape the future of project management within the organisation.
Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The requirement is a minimum of 50% of your working week in the office. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office five days over a two-week period.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, governance, resource management and delivery
- Leading the implementation of a People system, ensuring alignment with organisational transformation goals
- Establishing and maintaining effective project governance and reporting for senior stakeholders
- Managing project budgets, forecasts and resources to ensure effective delivery
- Coordinating internal stakeholders, subject matter experts and external suppliers
- Monitoring supplier performance, delivery milestones and quality standards
- Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies across the programme
- Supporting change management and adoption activities alongside business teams
- Managing the successful transition of new systems into business-as-usual support
- Contributing to the development of project management capability and best practice across the organisation
About You
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who has successfully delivered technology or digital transformation projects, ideally including People systems or HR platforms. You will be comfortable working in a complex organisational environment, managing multiple stakeholders and balancing competing priorities while maintaining strong delivery focus. You will also bring strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and build effective relationships across teams.
What We’d Be Looking For From You
- Proven experience managing end-to-end delivery of complex system implementation projects
- Strong experience working within digital transformation or change programmes
- Experience managing project governance, risk and stakeholder engagement
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and vendors
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile or hybrid approaches
- Experience managing system implementations, integrations or technology-enabled change
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience managing projects within structured change or transformation programmes
Desirable
- Experience implementing People or HR systems
- Experience working within the charity or non-profit sector
- Knowledge of data migration, reporting or workforce analytics
Why join Centrepoint?

- Healthcare cash plan
- Private medical insurance
- Income protection
