We are looking for a Chair of the Board of Trustees to replace our current Chair, who steps down in February 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the strategic direction of Centrepieces, a highly respected small charity that serves members with mental health difficulties. What difference will you make? You will lead the charity in seeking new partners and projects, help bid for essential resources, and guide the organisation toward its charitable objectives.

Qualifications

  • Skilled in chairing and leading meetings and developing strategy
  • Empathy with those having mental health challenges
  • Experience in charity governance and compliance
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Experience in financial management and fundraising is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Chair the 12‑Trustee board, ensuring a consensus approach to decision‑making and strategy development
  • Represent Centrepieces at events and in negotiations with other organisations
  • Work closely with the Project Co‑ordinator and key volunteers to support the charity’s management
  • Ensure compliance with governance documents and the pursuit of charitable objectives
