Giovanni’s Downtown Gelato is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Gelatista Assistant to join our award-winning flagship store in the heart of Milton Keynes.

As one of the first points of contact for our customers, you will be an ambassador for the Giovanni’s brand, creating memorable experiences and serving our authentic artisan gelato with pride—one scoop at a time.

Weekend availability is essential, with flexibility to work weekdays also required.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your role will be centred around delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring our kiosk operates to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing every customer with a warm, friendly and welcoming experience.
• Taking customer orders quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Recommending products and promoting additional items to maximise sales.
• Developing a thorough knowledge of our gelato flavours, desserts and menu items to confidently advise customers.
• Preparing and serving gelato while maintaining excellent presentation, portion control and correct serving temperatures.
• Operating the till accurately and processing all payment methods in accordance with company procedures.
• Assisting with opening and closing duties.
• Ensuring the gelato cabinet, kiosk and customer areas are clean, organised and fully prepared for service.
• Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, utensils and work areas.
• Completing all daily operational checklists and company protocols before the end of each shift.
• Managing stock room organisation in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Disposing of waste correctly and carrying out drainage procedures safely.
• Keeping external kiosk areas clean, presentable and welcoming.
• Assisting with washing up and maintaining clean work surfaces throughout the day.
• Following all company procedures, food safety standards and Health & Safety regulations at all times.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.

• Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
• Customer Service (1 year preferred)
• Food Preparation & Handling (1 year preferred)
• Food Service or Hospitality (1 year preferred)
• Cash handling and till operation

Education -International University students or equivalent (preferred)
Language -English (essential) &Italian (desirable)

Location - Applicants should be able to reliably commute to Milton Keynes (MK9) or be planning to relocate before starting employment.
