We are hiring a Catering Assistant at Leuchars Primary School. This is a permanent position, 12.5 hours per week, working 11:30 am to 2:00 pm approximately, 38‑week term‑time contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and ensure nursery pupils receive hot or cold meals every school day.
  • On‑the‑job training is provided towards a Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
  • Attend an induction training day before starting in post.

  • Willingness to obtain a Food Hygiene Certificate (or already hold one).
  • Receive and maintain PVG certification via Disclosure Scotland.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary of £25,604.23 pro‑rata on a 38‑week term‑time contract.
  • Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £13.64 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work including weekends.
