The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
Thoroughly inspecting public roads and open spaces to determine servicing needs. Manually removing litter, animal carcasses, animal faeces and other debris using appropriate street cleaning equipment. Routine servicing and maintenance of public litter and waste bins using plant and machinery. Driving allocated vehicles when required. Collecting and disposing of waste as per service procedures. Manually removing deposits arising from illegal dumping. Inspecting and clearing water course grids. Carrying out hand weeding, hoeing and sweeping. Using a range of tools and equipment for cleaning. Carrying out general labouring duties including manual snow clearing. Ensuring the quality of public cleaning complies with specified standards and reporting defects to line manager. Complying with all Service Health & Safety rules, procedures and accurate completion of any relevant documentation. Dealing with public enquiries. Assisting the Environmental Cleansing Chargehand in carrying out all tasks required. Undertaking all other duties as required for the role. Duties will be in line with the grade.
The Person
You must be physically able to walk considerable distances every day. You must be capable of manual outdoor working in all weathers, have physical working dexterity and a flexible approach towards carrying out a range of tasks. You should be a team worker with clear verbal communication skills and a ‘can-do’ approach to help resolve problems. You must be able to provide regular and effective service. A full driving licence is desirable.
