Do you have Catering Experience or a Qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent? In this catering post, you would be responsible for all activities in the kitchen and its surrounds including cooking, organisation and supervision of food service. Supervising staff working in the kitchen. You must be aware of HACCP Procedures and ensure all paperwork is completed and submitted accordingly. Understanding dietary and nutritional needs is essential.

Duties may also include transporting and serving meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen and its surroundings.

You will earn a competitive salary of £25,885.80 to £28,175.91 pro-rata and annualised payments with access to a range of benefits, including:

  • £13.79 per hour to start, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
  • Membership of Fife Pension Fund which is part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland).
  • Access to and support with training opportunities and qualifications for the job.
  • Local and national discounts including supermarkets, restaurants, and retail.
  • Training on In House systems will be provided.

Working towards an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate will be essential once in post.

The Person: Catering Experience or a Qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent is essential for this post. Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

Provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team. You will be required to attend an Induction Training before starting in post.
