Provide a Care at Home/Falls Response Service to vulnerable people in the community. The post holder will work as a Mobile Emergency Carer within the Home Care Associated Services Team of the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.
Responsibilities
- Respond to community alarm calls.
- Use specialised lifting equipment and move equipment and people, such as hoists and wheelchairs.
- Assist fallen non‑injured clients in line with the Fife Falls guideline.
- Provide support and personal care for service users and their carers in accordance with assessed needs, using professional, sensitive and flexible methods.
- Work in accordance with National Care Standards and collaborate with health and social care partnership colleagues and partnership agencies.
Person Profile
- Current driving licence and willingness to drive council vehicles.
- SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Previous Care at Home experience.
- Aware of the National Care Standards.
- Willingness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment.
- Positive, caring attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to undertake required tasks.
Additional Requirements
- Successful applicants will have three months to apply for SSSC registration.
- Applicants must start the registration process promptly to meet the six‑month deadline.
- Applicants will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before appointment.
