Location: St Columbas RC High School, Dunfermline

We are looking for a highly‑skilled Primary Teacher passionate about improving life chances for all through a professional commitment to making a difference for children and young people so they can achieve their full potential. As a Teacher in Fife you will be responsible for leading learning within your classroom context, promoting inclusion, diversity and equality, communicating with other stakeholders and contributing to wider improvements across the school community.

Core teaching responsibilities:

  • Teaching Numeracy, Literacy, Social Sciences and Skills for S1/S2.
  • Planning appropriate lesson content for young people, including those with additional support needs.
  • Tracking and monitoring attainment across benchmarks and Es & O's in Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Working closely with subject specialists to create content.
  • Delivering skills‑based learning focusing on a number of meta skills.
  • Providing a calm and purposeful classroom environment.

Qualifications, Registration and Skill Requirements

You are required to be fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) and to model all behaviour expected of a Teacher in Scotland in line with the relevant Professional Standards. You must have high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people in your setting. You must demonstrate a commitment to your own professional learning as a practitioner through career‑long professional learning activity and be able to show how this has impacted on your practice.

Applicable legislation: A Teacher appointed to any post on the staff of any denominational school by the education authority shall be approved as regards religious belief and character by representatives of the church or denominational body in whose interest the school has been conducted.

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
