We are looking for a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) who is passionate about improving life chances for all, so that children and young people can achieve their full potential. As a Pupil Support Assistant (2), you will work under the direction and supervision of a class teacher or senior member of staff to assist by supporting children and young people who have been identified as requiring additional support.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils/children individually or in class or in small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
  • Contribute information to update planning and review process for individual pupils/children.
  • Supervise pupil/child self‑administration of medication.
  • Offer a high level of personal care enabling the pupil/child to function to their full potential.
  • Carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists.
  • Support pupil/child mobility on an emergency/short‑term basis and for low level needs.

Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements:

  • Good levels of interpersonal skills and abilities which will enable you to work as a member of a team.
  • Experience of supporting young people with additional support needs.
  • Obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
  • Register with SSSC within 6 months of taking up employment in this role.
  • 2 National 5’s, or equivalent (SCQF Level 4 or above).
  • Good IT Skills.
