You must be aged between 16 and 24 on or by the specified start date. Alternatively, successful applicants can start at 15 years old; however, your 16th birthday must be by 30th September 2026. A School Leavers Form and National Insurance number will be required. If you are under 16 and don’t have a National Insurance number, email BS.Apprenticeships@fife.gov.uk and you will be given a temporary number to enable you to complete your application.

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

Applicants should have achieved or be expecting to achieve by August 2026: 3 SCQF Level 4’s or National 4’s to include English, Maths and practical craft skills. And/or an NC, SVQ1 or an NPA in the relevant construction trade will be considered as alternative qualifications in line with SCQF Matrix. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to achieve SVQ level 3 (SCQF Level 6). You may be required to travel out with Fife to attend College to achieve this qualification.

You will have an appreciation of the construction industry and knowledge of tasks undertaken by a Stonemason. You will have the ability to follow instructions and be able to work outside and deal with the demands of the job.
