A Modern Apprenticeship is a work‑based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification. The training can be both on and off the job, so Modern Apprentices learn the right mix of skills, abilities and knowledge. You will work on all aspects of Building Services activities, which can range from maintenance and repair to new builds. You will be working under direct instruction of a tradesperson or alone to develop your skills and knowledge for the chosen trade, while demonstrating enthusiasm and a willingness to achieve a high level of competence. The role includes working under a Respiratory Protective Equipment policy; you must meet regulatory requirements as per HSG 53 Respiratory Equipment at Work.
We particularly encourage applications from women, who are currently underrepresented within this type of work. These vacancies are restricted to applicants who live in Fife. You must be aged between 16 and 24 on or before the start date. Alternative successful applicants can start at 15 years old but must be 16 on 30 September 2026. Applicants should have achieved or be expecting to achieve by August 2026: 3 SCQF Level 5’s or National 5’s, including English, Maths and a relevant Science subject. Alternative qualifications: NC, SVQ1, or NPA in the relevant engineering trade. SVQ level 3 (SCQF Level 6) may also be required. Travel to attend college may be necessary.
