We are working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist Property Litigation firm, currently seeking an experienced Head of London to lead and grow their London division. This is a senior leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, build out a high-performing team, and drive the continued expansion of a market-leading property litigation practice.
About the Team: The firm is recognised for its technical strength in residential leasehold and landlord & tenant litigation, acting for a broad portfolio of landlords and managing agents. The culture is collaborative, commercially focused, and built around long-term growth and client excellence.
The Opportunity: You will take full ownership of the London function, combining technical leadership with strategic growth responsibilities. This includes developing client relationships, driving new business opportunities, and building a scalable and profitable division. This role is ideal for an established senior lawyer ready to step into a true leadership position with autonomy and influence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the London property litigation division
- Drive business development and generate new client relationships and revenue streams
- Oversee a complex caseload of high-value property litigation matters
- Act as a key point of contact for major landlord and managing agent clients
- Provide strategic oversight on leasehold disputes, service charge issues, forfeiture, and breach of covenant matters
- Represent clients in complex tribunal and court proceedings where required
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing legal team
- Work closely with senior leadership on wider firm strategy and growth plans
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings within the property litigation space
Required Experience:
- Extensive experience in property litigation and landlord & tenant law
- Strong track record handling complex leasehold and high-value disputes
- Significant tribunal experience (FTT Property Chamber essential)
- Proven experience operating at a senior or leadership level
Highly desirable:
- Demonstrable business development and client growth experience
- Experience with Building Safety Act matters
- Remediation Orders / Remediation Contribution Orders
- Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024
- Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002
