A Japanese IT company is currently recruiting a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work in their London office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide third line technical escalation for operational incidents.
  • Participate in network projects as a senior server engineer.
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Linux/Windows servers, network switches and firewalls.
  • Perform user administrative tasks including account and group management.
  • Support the installation of servers and network devices at a datacenter near London.
  • Assist users, troubleshoot issues and coordinate with hardware and software vendors.
  • Document operational procedures, create manuals, user announcements and develop internal applications.
  • Engage in project work: implementation, testing, creation of scripts, documents, parameter sheets and formulation of test plans.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in user support at an IT helpdesk, Linux (RedHat) and Windows server management, and WAN and LAN network troubleshooting.
  • Linux Server (RedHat) management experience, including account, group, performance and process management.
  • Windows server management experience is an advantage.
  • IA Server Hardware troubleshooting skills are an advantage.
  • Experience with NetApp and VMware management is an advantage.
  • Understanding of general networking technologies and protocols.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
  • Shell scripting skills are an advantage.
  • Experience in operation automation to enhance efficiency is an advantage.
  • Member management skills are an advantage.
  • Business level fluency in both English and Japanese, with understanding of Japanese culture.

Contract Details:

  • Employment type: full‑time, temp/contract/project.
  • Fixed‑term contract of 1 year (possible extension).
  • Working hours: 9:00‑17:00 Monday to Friday.
  • Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 depending on experience and skills.
  • Start: ASAP.
  • Location: London.
  • Visa support may be considered depending on experience.
