A Japanese company is currently recruiting an Operations and Administrative Manager to join its London office. The Operations and Administrative Manager will be responsible for leading internal operations, managing administrative functions, supporting HR and finance activities, and ensuring smooth communication between the UK office and Japan headquarters. The ideal candidate should have operations or administrative management experience, strong organisational skills, and business level fluency in Japanese with the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor an internal team including administration, accounting and customer service members
- Provide daily reporting to Japan headquarters and communicate effectively with Japanese management
- Support the development and update of HR policies in line with legal requirements
- Manage employee onboarding and departure processes
- Coordinate monthly payroll activities with external payroll providers
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across legal, compliance, and logistics functions
- Manage the Microsoft 365 environment and support IT-related administration
- Support office management policies and operational improvements for the UK office
- Analyse existing workflows and propose process improvements
- Ensure Japan headquarters’ standards are maintained across UK operations
Ideal Candidate
- 3–5 years' experience in operations management or administrative management roles
- Business level fluency in Japanese
- Experience in HR, team management, logistics, finance, or related administrative functions preferred
Conditions
- Location: London
- Working Style: office based (5 days in office)
- Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum depending on experience
- Job Type: permanent, full-time
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
