A ship-related company is currently recruiting a Strategy & Business Development Coordinator to work in their London office. In this role you will be responsible for supporting Europe’s strategic initiatives, including corporate transformation and business development across the European region. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, project-management experience, and the ability to support corporate transformation initiatives. Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese skill would be advantageous.
Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £40-45k (flexible)
Location: London (50% hybrid working)
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan & Control strategy as management office
- Support to develop the project relating to mid‑term management plan
- Plan, support, and coordinate the project for realisation of European corporate transformation
- Engage in entire group business planning, coordination, etc
- Ensure that each project goal is accomplished and in line with objectives
- Production of the Project Initiation Document and detail Project Plan
- Prepare project status reports
- Support to set up and coordinate streamlined and effective management meetings
- Review Project progress and proposing corrective action where necessary
- Consult with management and review project proposals
- Facilitating regular project review meetings
- Ensure that any impacts resulting from the Project are managed within the organisation
- Preparation of stakeholder communications plan
- Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications
- Support in the preparation of documentation for investment decision process
- Support business development, M&A processes and marketing activities
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, project management, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in strategic planning, consultancy, or project management in multinational environment
- Business level fluency in English
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to work within budgets, analyse numerical data, and ensure cost‑effective decisions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience of writing reports and presentations adapting to the different audience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- A reliable team player, committed to achieving task objectives
- Skilled at building harmonious relationships both internally and externally
Desirable:
- Knowledge of shipping/logistics industry
- Experience in project management or corporate transformation projects
- Strong presentation design and delivery skills
- Written and verbal communication skills in Japanese
