Job Description: A Japanese financial institute based in the City of London is currently looking for a Japanese-speaking Strategic Planning Group AVP to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Front Offices, Control and Support functions of the Bank to enhance/implement business strategies and follow up with management on issues identified. You will also coordinate with senior management, other departments and offices, and their Head office as necessary. Advanced Japanese skills are required for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head of Strategic Planning Group in carrying out certain activities related to strategic matters and collaboration within EMEA Division.
- Create and review various reports and submit them to management within the required time frame.
- Support regular reporting to senior management and committees, e.g., helping to draft periodic reporting and board updates.
- Support management of irregular incidents, monitoring internal/external auditors requests and recommendations.
- Assist the team when dealing with matters related to Derivative.
- Coordinate effectively with stakeholders in other teams and departments, including Tokyo Head Office.
Ideal Candidate:
- Basic understanding of corporate and investment banking with a keen interest in the financial industry.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Japanese – advanced level.
- Strong capability in Microsoft Office 365 suite: Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to present professionally in small groups and participate in meetings in person if required.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
- Confident interpersonal skills.
