A global Japanese financial institution is seeking an Administrative / Office Support to work in their London office. In this role, you will support the bank’s compliance and business functions by managing risks and resolving issues in line with internal policies. You should have a basic understanding of corporate and investment banking and an interest in the financial industry. Business‑level fluency in both Japanese and English is essential.

Responsibilities
- Support the bank’s front offices in complying with applicable laws and regulations, including assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of control processes and following up on identified issues.
- Conduct work required for the operation of the Control & Administration Group of the Strategic Planning Department.
- Coordinate with senior management, other departments/offices, and Head Office as needed.
- Handle regular reporting requirements, irregular incidents, regulatory inspection matters, internal audit matters, and reports to Head Office.
- Assist the Head of Control & Administration in activities related to regulatory matters and collaboration within the EMEA division.
- Create, review, and submit English and/or Japanese reports to management within required timeframes.
- Support regular reporting to senior management and committees, including drafting periodic reporting and board updates.
- Support the management of irregular incidents and monitor internal/external auditors’ requests and recommendations.
- Assist the team with matters related to Japanese FSA, PRA, FCA, and other regulatory authorities in EMEA.
- Coordinate with stakeholders in other teams and departments, including Tokyo Head Office.
Ideal Candidate
- Basic understanding of corporate and investment banking and an interest in the financial industry.
- Business level fluency in both English and Japanese.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to present professionally in small groups and participate in meetings in person if required.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
- Confident interpersonal skills.
