A highly successful IT and telecommunications services company is currently recruiting an Infrastructure Engineer in London. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing all activities related to ICT services, including planning, design, and architecture, as well as maintenance of network and system solutions.
The ideal candidate should have planning abilities in networking, work experience in Networking, and proficiency in various networking protocols and configurations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute all activities related to ICT services, including planning, design, and architecture in addition to maintenance of network and system solutions.
- Design and support IoT service platforms.
- Manage the full lifecycle for provided equipment and services.
- Take responsibility for ICT services operations including networks, firewalls, and security services.
- Detailed planning, designing and developing of ICT services including network and server applications.
- Network element configuration including day-to-day service delivery.
- Network and server implementation and optimisation including designing and testing procedures.
- Service, network and hardware migration planning and execution.
- Proof of concept testing and acceptance testing.
- Creating handover documents and delivering training within the division.
- Developing and implementing new features and services.
- Vendor and Carrier negotiation, and control for gaining the necessary information and following it through.
- Establishing and ceasing circuit connections of the systems.
- 3rd level troubleshooting with related internal teams and being the first point of contact for internal and external matters.
- Acting as a technical lead for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
- In case of critical incidents, coordinate with relevant parties and provide support as required to ensure service continuity.
Ideal Candidate:
- Planning abilities in networking, systems, and servers as part of strategic, service infra and O&M planning.
- Work experience in Networking with knowledge of CCNP, JNCIA.
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, Ethernet, Data Transmission, L2/L3 VPN, Multi-Layer Networking, QoS, Security Firewall, SDWAN, EVPN-VXLAN, and IPSec.
- Knowledge of SONET/SDH, Ethernet, MPLS, Optical Networking.
- Routing knowledge, including EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP4.
- Experience with Cisco IOS, Junos, Paloalto PAN-OS, Mikrotik OS, AWS operation and configuration.
- Skills in UNIX command operation and setup/management.
- Facility Management, Network Cabling, Equipment Installation.
- Knowledge of server applications like SMTP, DNS, HTTP, Radius, SNMP Monitoring & Traffic Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
- Ability to read and write technical documentation.
- Strong time management, multi-tasking and organisational skills.
- Business level fluency in English.
