A Japanese manufacturer is seeking a Quality Manager to join its UK team based in Surrey. This is an autonomous role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and relevant regulatory standards.
Work type: Hybrid (2 days WFH available after probation, During probation: 5 days in the office)
TYPE: Permanent, full time
SALARY: £53,000-57,500 (depending on experience) + bonus
WORKING HOURS: Monday–Friday, 8:00–16:00 (35 hours/week)
LOCATION: Woking, Surrey
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Act as Management Representative (ISO9001:2015 / ATEX standards)
- Plan and conduct internal and external quality audits (UK & overseas suppliers, incl. Vietnam)
- Manage continuous improvement activities, KPIs, and corrective actions
- Oversee quality documentation, engineering documentation, and audit records
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, notified bodies, and test laboratories
- Conduct failure analysis and manage customer complaints
- Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH, and WEEE directives
- Support Health & Safety policies and quality awareness across the business
Ideal Candidate
- Experience managing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Strong knowledge of quality regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Confident working independently in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Visio, Adobe, AutoCAD advantageous)
