A manufacturer and seller of high-quality drilling and cutting tools is currently looking for a Sales Manager to join their UK team based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B or B2C sales within a relevant field, and people management experience.

  • Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Salary: 40-50K, depending on the experience
  • Location: Stevenage, UK (typically field-based with 1-2 days in the office per week)

Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead sales team (2 field reps + 1 office rep)
  • Set and monitor call/visit targets and conversion rates
  • Develop sales strategies with the GM, track KPIs
  • Train team in sales and product knowledge (with GM support)
  • Maintain relationships with key clients; visiting 10-15 clients, twice a year
  • Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to HQ
  • Support lead generation with GM and marketing
  • Attend relevant shows and represent the company externally

Sales Manager Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

  • 3+ years in Sales Management (team leadership, performance tracking)
  • 5+ years in B2B/B2C sales (contractors, construction firms, distributors)
  • 3+ years with CRM systems, Excel, or sales analytics
  • Business development & account growth experience

Desirable/Preferred:

  • Experience in industrial tools, diamond tools, or construction products
  • Understanding of feature/benefit selling, not just price
  • Degree in Sales, Business, or Marketing
  • Technical knowledge of diamond tools

  • Self-motivated, proactive, professional
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and commercially aware
  • Problem-solving and negotiation ability
