A global Japanese trading company is seeking an experienced Senior Commodity Analyst to join their London office. In this role, you will be responsible for trade reconciliation, daily and monthly cash settlements, confirmation matching, updating margin reports, and liaising with the front office and clients.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Back Office operations, excellent knowledge of quantitative analysis for market risk, and the ability to manage projects effectively.
Type: Full time, Permanent
Location: London, (Hybrid β 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home)
Main Responsibilities:
- Trade reconciliation from trade recaps & broker statements
- Daily and Monthly Cash settlements and reconciliation
- Confirmation matching
- Updating and reviewing Daily Margin reports
- Be a main point of contact for Energy, Precious and Base Metals within the front office
- Liaise with people internally at all levels
- Review existing procedures with the objective of improving and implementing more efficient working processes
- Assess problems and suggest solutions to Management
- Liaise with internal trading desks and external clients to ensure efficient service and timely dealing of queries
- Be cross trained in all areas
- Cover daily and monthly tasks when required and provide backup for other members in their absence
- Cover other areas of the Commodity team if required
- Take an active role in project work and manage projects communicating progress to Management
Ideal Candidate:
- Several years' experience in commodity markets
- Solid Back Office/operational experience
- Professional knowledge and experience in commodity trade types
- Excellent product knowledge within commodity markets
- Strong knowledge of Back Office Commodity operations particularly in Precious, Base and Energy trades
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative analysis for market risk and any other risks relating to commodity transactions
- Excellent knowledge of international settlements in various currencies & products
- Ability to analyse complex data
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload under pressure
- Problem-solving skills
