A major Japanese financial institution based in the City of London is currently seeking a Japanese-speaking Trade Finance Sales (VP level). In this role, you will be responsible for promoting trade finance solutions to Japanese and Asian multinational corporations across the EMEA region. You will also be engaged in product management and strategic product planning and development. Candidates with prior experience in trade finance sales at a major financial institution or those with corporate banking experience and foundational knowledge in trade finance, who are motivated to deepen their expertise are welcomed.

Trade Finance Sales Main Responsibilities:
- Provide trade finance solutions to Japanese and multinational clients
- Achieve individual and team revenue targets and KPIs
- Manage the entire deal lifecycle from origination to execution
- Share progress, risks, and challenges with stakeholders
- Coordinate with internal teams including legal, compliance, and operations
- Organise and lead training sessions for suppliers
- Draft and negotiate legal documents with clients and third parties
- Collaborate with middle office to complete AML/KYC procedures
- Improve and implement workflows for new/existing products
- Prepare marketing and presentation materials tailored to client needs
- Analyse cash conversion cycles and working capital
- Liaise with Tokyo HQ and internal departments to share client insights
- Work closely with RM team to manage proposals, inquiries, and deal pipelines
- Build relationships with clients, third-party providers, and financial institutions
- Support the development of new products and strategies based on client demand
Trade Finance Sales Ideal Candidate:
- Sales experience at a major financial institution (essential)
- Experience or foundational understanding of trade finance promotion
- Knowledge of invoice discounting, receivables finance, supply chain finance, LC confirmation, and import LCs
- Proven record of new client acquisition and closing deals
- Expertise in trade finance (L/C, receivables, supply chain, etc.)
- Strong negotiation, risk assessment, legal drafting, and compliance skills
- Understanding of commodity industries related to trade finance clients
- IT skills and awareness of fintech trends in trade finance
- Ability to assess potential risks and implement mitigation measures
- Strategic mindset in trade finance business development
- Business fluency in both Japanese and English
