Overview

A small, but established company, specialising in researching and advising on Japanese equities, and regulated by the FCA, is looking to expand their business, and are seeking a trainee in Chief Exec Support & Salesperson. You will work with and be trained every step of the way by shadowing and supporting the director within a team oriented and rewarding professional environment. No previous equity research analysis experience is necessary. You will need a mother tongue level of English with strong communication skills, and excellent Japanese speaking skills will be advantageous. You will be exposed to high level business environment with responsibility from the early stage. This will be an excellent chance to put your Japanese to effective use daily, gain new skills and receive on-the-job training.

  • TYPE: Permanent, full-time
  • WORKING HOURS: 07.00 – 16.30 from Monday to Friday
  • SALARY: £25K depending on experience, a generous bonus will be considered once you develop sufficient skills and contribute to the company
  • START: ASAP
  • LOCATION: Burton-upon-Trent, near Derby (The first year will be completely onsite training. Remote work will be applied once)

Short term responsibility

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the company by shadowing & supporting the Director

Long term responsibility

  • Maintain strong relationships and develop new relationships with global institutional investors and Japanese corporations, promoting the company & its ideas.
  • You will also work with the Business development sales teams to further the company’s outreach

Role as a trainee

  • Japanese companies with their global investor related work overseas
  • Arranging investor meetings / roadshows (global IR trips including the US / Europe / Asia inc Aus)
  • Updating the website
  • Shadowing & supporting the Director

  • Strong organisational & Time Management skills
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a small team & take on responsibility at an early stage
  • Being self- motivated, and a positive and open attitude & strong work ethic
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to rapidly learn & understand new tasks presented
  • Willingness to share new idea and learning
  • University degree. Minimum 2:1
