A Japanese leasing company in London is currently recruiting an Accounting & Controlling Assistant Vice President.
Responsibilities:
- Handling all tax-related and transfer pricing activities, and reporting to the manager of the branch and Tokyo.
- Responding to inquiries from external tax and accounting advisors, tax authorities in the UK and other EU countries or other parties related to tax and accounting, when requested.
- Reviewing tax calculation provided by the agents and authorities, contacting them to correct it, if necessary.
- Researching on recent tax issues related to their business activities or others.
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
- Collaborating with various third parties (tax and accountant offices, etc.).
- Performing other duties related to tax as assigned by branch managers.
- Handling accounting-related activities including budget management in the branch, and reporting to the manager of the branch and Tokyo.
- Conducting the branch financial closing operations, consolidated account settlements and cash flow management for the branch.
- Administration related to any kinds of local taxes in conjunction with external advisors.
- Assisting various supporting services related to tax and accounting for their subsidiaries (consolidated/equity method) and group companies in Europe.
Ideal Candidate:
- At least 7 years of relevant industry experience (Tax operations, Transfer pricing, Finance controller, Accounting operations, Settlement of accounts, Consolidated settlement of accounts).
- Experience in the end-to-end process of introduction and implementing of a new accounting system.
- Experience as a finance controller supervising all accounting and tax-related activities.
- Business-level fluency in both English and Japanese.
