A Japanese food manufacturing company is currently recruiting an Accounting Manager to join its North London office. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing finance, accounting, and tax operations, preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate should have solid accounting and financial management experience in the UK, strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Japanese, Mandarin, or Korean, or familiarity with cultures would be advantageous.
Work type: Hybrid working available

WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:30 from Monday to Friday
SALARY: £55k-£80K depending on experience

LOCATION: Enfield, North London (3 days per week in the office after probation)
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage all finance, accounting, and tax matters
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and supporting documents
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Support preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with management of accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies
- Support audit preparation and liaise with auditors
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Monitor and manage cash flow and prepare forecasts
- Coordinate with departments to optimise cash flow
- Improve operational efficiency through financial systems and tools
- Supervise, mentor, and support finance team members
- Assist with staff training and development
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in accounting, finance, and tax management in the UK
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Team management or supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Business level English required; Japanese language skills are an advantage
- Accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent) preferred
