A Japanese financial institution based in London is currently seeking a Corporate Bond Credit Analyst to join their team. This role will involve active participation in investment analysis for credit bond funds, focusing primarily on investment-grade corporate issuers in Europe. The successful candidate will have +5 years solid experience in corporate credit analysis and a strong understanding of credit markets and bond valuation.

Type: Permanent, full-time

Working Hours: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday

Salary: £80-120K depending on experience + Competitive bonus

Start: ASAP

Location: Central London, hybrid working available (3 days in office)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fundamental credit analysis of European corporate issuers, primarily investment-grade companies
  • Assess ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) factors and alignment with SDGs
  • Evaluate relative value opportunities in EUR and GBP denominated bonds
  • Monitor primary markets for senior and hybrid bond issuances
  • Provide investment recommendations and related administrative support
  • Attend meetings and conferences with issuers, brokers and other market participants
  • Support analysts at key clients (mainly the parent company) by sharing issuer and sector analysis
  • Liaise regularly with the head office in Japan via online meetings
  • Contribute to monthly fund performance reports

Ideal Candidate:

  • +5 years’ experience as a Corporate Credit Analyst or in a related field
  • Strong understanding of credit markets and bond valuation
  • Degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Bloomberg skills
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of Industrial and/or REIT sectors highly advantageous
  • Experience analysing hybrid bonds or high-yield bonds welcomed
