A leading wholesaler in the UK is currently recruiting a Quality Control Administrator to join its team in Chessington, Surrey. In this role, you will support Quality Control activities covering food safety compliance, site inspections, documentation, non-conformance follow-up, and customer complaints. You will work closely with internal operational and production teams to maintain high standards in line with BRCGS requirements.

The ideal candidate should have good attention to detail and the ability to follow methodical processes, a willingness to learn food safety and QC/QA processes, with strong organisational and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Control activities in line with BRCGS Storage & Distribution standards and food safety requirements
  • Carry out regular housekeeping checks and daily, weekly, and monthly site inspections
  • Review QC records and documentation, identifying gaps and following up on corrective actions and non-conformances
  • Coordinate customer complaint investigations with relevant operational teams and support problem resolution
  • Work closely with Production to maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality
  • Support compliance with food safety legislation, company policies, and SOPs
  • Respond to operational enquiries accurately and promptly while coordinating closely with internal teams
  • Support the Technical Manager with Technical objectives, documentation and other Quality Control activities

Ideal Candidate

  • Understanding of food safety and QC/QA processes including GMP checks, sampling and non-conformance follow-up
  • Previous experience in customer service, sales and/or supply chain would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to respond quickly to operational requirements
  • Customer-focused with a professional and helpful communication style
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Japanese or ethnic food products would be advantageous
  • Chinese, Japanese, or German language skills would be advantageous

Conditions

  • Location: Chessington, UK
  • Working Style: office-based
  • Job Type: permanent, full-time
  • Salary: up to Β£30,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 17:00 (40 hours per week, 30-minute lunchbreak)
