As a 360-Degree Theatre Nurse, you will play an integral role in our surgical team, managing patient care from the preoperative stage through to postoperative recovery. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth, safe, and effective surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preoperative Care: Conduct thorough assessments, confirm documentation and consent, and prepare all required equipment and materials.
  • Intraoperative Support: Set up and maintain a sterile field; assist the surgical team with instruments; manage instrument and material counts; and monitor patient status.
  • Postoperative Care: Act as the patient's advocate in the post-operative recovery phase. Work without direct medical supervision to monitor the patient’s postoperative condition. Respond immediately to any changes in condition, provide treatment and escalate as necessary. Provide support in Stage 1 recovery (immediate post-operative) and Stage 2 recovery, Admission/Discharge as required.
  • Communication and Coordination: Act as a key communicator between the surgical team, patient, and family, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least two years theatre experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC and HCPC registration.
  • Proven experience in perioperative nursing, including scrubbing, circulating, and recovery.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
