The Centre for International Security and Economic Strategy (CISES) is a London-based independent think tank producing research and analysis on international security, defence, and economic policy. CISES publishes work across four thematic programmes — covering international security and conflict, defence and military strategy, emerging technologies and risks, and economics and trade — alongside a podcast, The Security Affair, and a fellowship community.
This is a voluntary, fully remote role. The Deputy Director of the Economics and Trade Programme will work directly alongside the Programme Director to lead the ETP's day-to-day research and editorial activity. Responsibilities include shaping the Programme's research agenda, commissioning and editing analytical output, supporting and coordinating Programme members, and contributing to CISES's broader strategic direction. The role carries real responsibility and is suited to someone looking to develop leadership experience in a policy research environment.
