Research in Engineering is carried out under four pillars – Additive Layer Manufacturing, Composite Engineering, Energy and Green Technologies and Process Engineering with emphases on cross pillar research. The department is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the development of Aerospace Engineering, specifically: expertise in aircraft design & systems, avionics, wind tunnel aerodynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Include research and teaching across the Engineering’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • You will work with staff and students in the pursuit of research both as an individual and as part of the wider School and Faculty activities, encompassing complementary research areas by contributing to the work of established research groups.
  • You should have a track record of dissemination of research outputs/achievements in high quality scientific/technical journals and the potential to attract research funding and/or generate external income.
  • You will be delivering all aspects of aerospace engineering and will need to demonstrate the breadth of knowledge of the subject matter.
  • You will be appointed either as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • You must have a PhD degree in Engineering or a very closely related subject.
  • Membership of a professional body will be an advantage.
  • You must have good experience in all aspects of Aerospace Engineering.
