The University of Wolverhampton is seeking a proactive Deputy Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. This is a varied and rewarding role, supporting all areas of management and financial accounting—from externally funded activity to monthly reporting, forecasting, and year‑end preparation. You’ll provide valuable financial insight to Budget Holders and Senior Stakeholders, contribute to continuous process improvement, and act as a trusted deputy to the Management Accountant.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the production of monthly management accounts, forecasts and year‑end information.
- Monitor externally funded projects, ensuring accurate costings and compliance with guidelines.
- Provide financial advice to Deans, Heads of Department, Project Managers and Budget Holders.
- Monitor income and expenditure and help develop improved financial reporting.
- Prepare financial information for business cases, bids and new initiatives.
- Complete financial reconciliations.
- Deputise for the Management Accountant.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) and A Levels or equivalent.
- Part qualified with CCAB body or equivalent or qualified by experience.
- Experience of management and financial accounts.
- Excellent IT skills.
- High accuracy, strong attention to detail and good analytical ability.
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive, enthusiastic team player.
