We are looking for a Caretaker Supervisor to supervise, lead and motivate a team of Caretakers to carry out the day‑to‑day duties required to promote the professional, customer focussed support service across the University estate. Caretaker duties include cleaning, portering, minor maintenance and unlicensed security activities across the whole of the University Estate including the Halls of Residence.

As a supervisor you will be responsible for allocating and monitoring caretakers’ work, undertaking audits and ensuring that the department is staffed and operating effectively. You will also be the first line contact for staff HR issues including conducting Return to Work interviews and addressing performance issues with staff before escalating them to the Building Manager / Hub Manager in building manager absence. You will be required to use IT systems to record and monitor work and be expected to send correspondence to colleagues, management, and staff so computer literacy skills are important and necessary for this role. You will also be expected to liaise with colleagues in Cleaning, Administration and Security making good communication skills essential for this role. Experience in a similar role would be desirable with evidence of leading and motivating staff.

Shift Pattern: A3 3 x AM 3 x PM 3 x OFF (AM 06:30AM -15:34PM Mon – Fri) (AM 06:30AM – 14:15PM Sat / Sun) (PM 13:24PM – 22:00PM Mon – Fri) (PM 13:24PM – 21:30PM Sat /Sun)
