We are looking for a Caretaker Supervisor to supervise, lead, and motivate a team of Caretakers. The goal is to promote a professional, customer-focused support service across the University estate. Caretaker duties include cleaning, portering, minor maintenance, and unlicensed security activities throughout the University, including the Halls of Residence.

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for allocating and monitoring work, conducting audits, and ensuring effective staffing and operation of the department. You will serve as the first point of contact for staff HR issues, including conducting Return to Work Interviews and addressing performance concerns before escalating them to the coordinator.

The role requires proficiency in IT systems for recording and monitoring work, as well as effective communication skills for correspondence with colleagues, management, and staff. Liaising with teams in Cleaning, Administration, and Security is also essential.

Experience in a similar role, with evidence of leading and motivating staff, is desirable.

The shift pattern is on a five-out-of-seven basis, with:

  • AM shift: 06:30 - 15:34
  • PM shift: 13:20 - 22:00
