Centre Barks @ Moscar Ltd is a friendly, professional pet care facility based in Sheffield, dedicated to providing high-quality care for dogs, cats and small animals whilst their owners are away. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and a genuine love for animals, providing top quality five star facilities.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic kennel assistant to join our team on either a full-time or part-time basis. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is passionate about animal welfare and enjoys working with both pets and their owners. The post will be on a fixed term contract to late October but may extend or become permanent. Please note this is a very physically demanding job and requires a good level of health and fitness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing daily care for dogs and possibly cats including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring health and wellbeing.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the cattery.
  • Administering medication (where required and trained to do so).
  • Possessing good knowledge of basic pet first aid or be willing to work towards relevant training.
  • Providing caring and stimulating play and exercise opportunities for dogs in our care and helping them settle into their kennel accommodation.
  • Delivering excellent customer service when checking pets in and out.
  • Communicating effectively with pet owners and team members.
  • Supporting general day-to-day operations of the facility.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with dogs (professional or voluntary) for at least a year.
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional and approachable manner.
  • A genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays, full and half days.
  • Own transport due to poor public transport and rural location.
  • Experience in a cattery, kennel, veterinary, or animal care setting.
  • Knowledge of canine behaviour and care.
  • Level 3 qualification or above in animal care or similar.
