About You: This role is ideal for experienced Health & Social Care professionals looking to move into education, or qualified FE Tutors and Lecturers with experience working with young people. About the Role: We are recruiting a Health & Social Care Tutor to join our growing provision at our new Leeds centre. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people aged 16–19, delivering engaging and practical learning that prepares learners for further education, apprenticeships, and careers within the health and social care sector. As a Study Programme Tutor, you will deliver Health & Social Care qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2, supporting learners throughout their journey from enrolment to achievement. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners develop not only vocational knowledge and skills, but also the confidence, resilience, and employability skills needed to succeed. Working closely with colleagues and specialist teams, you will support learners to achieve their English and Maths qualifications, monitor progress, provide pastoral support, and ensure every learner is challenged and supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Health & Social Care.
- Teach and assess qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2.
- Support learners personal development, employability, and progression goals.
- Work collaboratively with specialist teams to support English and Maths achievement.
- Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate learner records.
- Provide effective pastoral and tutorial support.
- Embed digital skills and technology within teaching and learning.
- Contribute to a positive learning culture and maintain high standards in line with the Education Inspection Framework.
Safeguarding responsibilities: This role will involve daily contact with learners, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. All staff have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, and/or vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. The Charity’s Safeguarding Policy is available from Central YMCA website.
