The Leadership Brief: Your Commercial Remit
We are building something genuinely special with our commercial strategy at Village. As our Head of Sales Operations, you are not just managing a team; you are the commercial engine driving our revenue growth across the entire group of 34 Hotels. Working a hybrid model with a minimum of three days at our Warrington Head Office, you will take absolute ownership of a large, strong team, instilling a hungry, high performing sales culture across our Groups, Meetings, Sports, and Weddings desks.
Why Village? At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating lively spaces for our guests to work, eat, relax, and play. With 34 hotels (and more opening soon), an extensive health and fitness club, and Starbucks all under one roof, our unique concept makes us number one in revenue across our markets. We back our leaders to be themselves, take true ownership, and drive their departments like their own business. Previous senior leadership experience is essential, but your attitude, commercial curiosity, and energy matter just as much.
How the Village Thrives
- We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work every day, with purpose.
- We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best and look out for each other.
- We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other.
Your Strategic Mandate: What You Will Actually Own
This is a highly commercial, pivotal role requiring sharp judgement, incredible people leadership, and a relentlessly data led mindset. Reporting directly to the Group Director of Sales, we trust you to handle:
- The Revenue Strategy: Defining and leading the commercial approach for our central sales desks. You will balance revenue growth with service levels, setting intelligent pricing strategies, and building the performance dashboards that drive clear, proactive decision making.
- The People Leadership: Inspiring and developing a team of around 60 colleagues, including five direct management reports. You will embed a culture of absolute sales excellence, coaching your managers and acting as a senior mentor across the wider commercial function to build true capability and succession.
- The Systems & Data: Acting as the ultimate product owner for our core sales systems, including Salesforce and iVvy. You will champion continuous improvement, strip away manual processes, and use automation to drive productivity and a frictionless customer journey across every workflow.
- The Commercial Influence: Operating seamlessly across a complex matrix structure. You will partner with the National Sales Team, General Managers, and Hotel Operations to influence stakeholders, align our goals, and negotiate high value group opportunities.
How We Succeed Together
We do not micromanage our leaders. We believe in Ownership & Integrity, giving you the autonomy to build your strategy, challenge the status quo, and lead your teams to success. You will have a real voice, genuine influence, and the backing of a business that is completely focused on growth.
Selling Our Benefits
- The Financials: A highly competitive senior salary with a comprehensive leadership benefits package and the flexibility of hybrid working from our Warrington Head Office.
