This is a fixed term opportunity with potential to extend. To succeed in this post you will need experience of managing patients with chronic respiratory disease as a Band 7 or Band 6 Practitioner in a health setting. You will have experience of working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate must have good communication and organisational skills with a flexible approach to meet the ever-changing needs of the service.
This role is integral to the multi-disciplinary team and supports: unplanned admission avoidance where appropriate; post discharge support; community clinics; home visits and is involved in Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Ambulatory Oxygen prescription, a home Non-Invasive ventilation service, research and other innovative schemes.
The team strives to ensure evidence based practice and to provide an effective high quality service by setting standards and ensuring they are monitored and maintained.

Main duties of the job The role of the Respiratory Practitioner is to undertake a significant specialist clinical case load, taking a leading role in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with long-term conditions. These patients may have complex presentations.
To take a lead role in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Respiratory Care Team on a day to day basis.
