The predicted salary is between 37288 - 45574 Β£ per year.

We are looking for a list holding GP to work 5-7 sessions per week at our newly refurbished, growing practice in the centre of the beautiful market town of Farnham. Our current list size is 14,000 and our practice comprises a team of 12 doctors, including 3 partners, 4 nurses, 3 HCAs and a wide variety of additional clinical roles (Physicians Associate, Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers). We work closely with our PCN and benefit from an excellent Same Day Access Centre and an established Integrated Care Team supporting our clinical activity.

Main duties of the job:

  • This role involves the full range of usual GP duties, including face-to-face and telephone consultations, managing acute and chronic conditions, preventative care, referrals, document and lab results management and involvement in multidisciplinary team working.

Job responsibilities:

  • The provision of services commensurate with the PMS contract.
  • Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
  • Effective management of long-term conditions.
  • Processing administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.
  • On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
  • Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
  • Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
  • Attend and contribute to practice meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the practice, including clinical governance, training, financial management and HR.
  • Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
  • Support trainees from all clinical disciplines, including FY and ST doctors, Advanced Practitioners and a variety of ARRS roles.
  • Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
  • Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies.
  • Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead.
  • Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.
  • Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA).

Person Specification:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Essential: EMIS user skills, effective time management (Planning & Organising), experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes, commitment to providing continuity of care and holistic, patient-centred practice, understanding of QOF, Enhanced Services, and local health initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Qualified GP, MRCGP, Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent, JCPTGP, General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT).

Experience:

  • Essential: Experience of working in a primary care environment, experience of continued professional development, general understanding of the GMS/PMS contract.
  • Desirable: Minimum of two years as a salaried GP.
