My client is a niche law firm, specialising in all things Construction. They pride themselves on being a great place to work, striving to offer exceptional service to all of their clients whilst maintaining a strong team ethos in the office.
The client has been ranked by The Times as one of the top 15 construction law firms in the country (the only outside London to be ranked).
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor to join our busy development team. The successful candidate can be based in Cambridge or Colchester. It is expected that the successful candidate will over time take control of key client relationships across different sectors and look to manage a team to help them deliver any work required for those clients. The size and scale of work varies but almost all transactions which my client assists with tend to involve some form of stakeholder involvement (such as a funder) and therefore working with external law firms is usually necessary – those firms tend to be large multi-disciplinary practices based in London who will pick up all aspects of the transactions other than construction. Whilst my client is based in the regions, the work and clients are London centric and as such there would be opportunity and encouragement to build relationships in London if the successful candidate wanted to do so.
Key Skills
- The ideal candidate would have: 4 years+ PQE, working in a busy construction practice (albeit lesser PQE will be considered based on experience)
- Experience: Drafting and negotiating all the necessary contract documentation for complex development deals including those with funding structures such as debt funding or forward funding – whilst not essential an understanding of how key stakeholder documents such as forward funding agreements would be ideal; and/or assisting with transactions requiring legal due diligence on construction documentation.
- Experience supervising junior fee earners and working as part of a team.
- A client following would be beneficial, but it is not a requirement.
Benefits
- Competitive salary (above market rates)
- Discretionary bonuses
- Hybrid Working
- Competitive Employer-matched pension contributions
- Free David Lloyd Gym Membership
