Our fleet includes refrigerated, curtainside, and skeletal trailers, ensuring versatile solutions for our clients. All our trailers are serviced and maintained by our in-house team of skilled mechanics. We aim to deliver excellent service and well-maintained equipment to keep businesses running smoothly.
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Trailer Mechanic, based in Newmains, with some flexibility for remote work. Normal working hours are 08.30 to 17.00 Mon/Frid, overtime is available Sat 1.5 rate and Sunday double time. The role involves carrying out maintenance, repairs, and routine preventative maintenance on a variety of trailers, including refrigerated, curtainside, and skeletal trailers. The Trailer Mechanic will inspect and troubleshoot issues, perform timely repairs, and ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards. The role also requires maintaining accurate records of work performed and collaborating with the team to uphold high service quality.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and Maintenance & Repair, particularly focused on HGV trailers.
- Proficient in working with HGV trailers, including the ability to handle tools and machinery needed for trailer servicing and repairs.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical and technical issues effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety standards.
- Previous experience in the transportation or logistics industry is advantageous.
- Relevant technical certifications or vocational training in mechanics or a related field is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and operate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- A valid driver’s license and a strong understanding of industry regulations.
- HGV Class 1 licence preferred but not essential.
