Summary:
The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality group fitness classes that align with Central Rock Gym’s standards and support a positive, inclusive member experience. This role fosters an engaging class environment, promotes participation in CRG programming, and ensures the studio space and equipment are properly maintained before, during, and after each session.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and teach high-quality group exercise classes aligned with CRG standards.
- Communicate and coordinate with gym management on class schedules (days/times).
- Assist with class bookings and rosters in Rock Gym Pro.
- Partner with management to promote classes via CRG’s website, social media, and in-gym channels—and actively self-promote to grow attendance and expand offerings.
- Create an inclusive, positive, and motivating space for all participants.
- Prepare and reset the studio before and after classes; ensure equipment is wiped down and stored properly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Acts as a supportive team member, helping instructors maintain consistent class offerings through dependable sub coverage.
Requirements:
- Flexible schedule, including potential early mornings/evenings/weekends.
- 2+ years of teaching experience and a 200-hour certification from an accredited school/training program.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant fitness advancements and teaching practices (plus).
- Friendly, approachable, and member-focused demeanor.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Climbing-specific knowledge is helpful but not required.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
