We are recruiting for a Metal Polisher, Skilled/ Semi-skilled. Training will be given to the right applicant. The main function is to improve the look/ surface finish of components as required.
This hands-on role involves using a range of manual machines to remove defects in the surface of parts, requiring knowledge and skills of using abrasives to attain a suitable surface preparation for a full mirror finish. Other surface finishes on parts are also required, such as brushed.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Polishing Stainless-steel components to clean finishes
- Use various manual polishing machines/ Spindles
- Running a tube centre less machine to achieve a suitable surface finish
- Liaise with machine shop manager to ensure jobs are completed in time
- Clean work area and equipment as required
- Remove dents scratches as required
- Ability to use abrasives belts/ machine as per requirements of components
- Ensure safe working of equipment and machinery
Required Skills and Experience
- To have a suitable polishing role with a minimum experience of 2 years
- Have experience inspecting products with a keen eye for detail
- Have experience inspecting production
- Experience of the polishing process for evaluation and improvement
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the company
- Be able to work under their own initiative
- Follow the component specification as required
Pay rate £14.50- £15.00 per hour depending on experience. MUST BE RELIABLE AND GOOD TIME KEEPER
