Reporting to: Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial laser cutting machinery to process metal components.
  • Follow all machine safety and personal safety procedures at all times.
  • Check materials for correct identification, dimensions, thickness, and grade prior to processing.
  • Ensure components meet required quality standards after cutting.
  • Work to production schedules to ensure orders are completed on time and to specification.
  • Operate and monitor machinery efficiently while maintaining production targets.
  • Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and ensure the general condition of equipment is kept to a high standard.
  • Monitor and replace machine consumables when required.
  • Record production data and update internal systems where necessary.
  • Follow operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.
  • Complete daily and weekly equipment inspections.
  • Use material handling equipment such as forklifts or overhead lifting equipment when required.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and production instructions.
  • Use measuring equipment including tape measures, steel rulers, and vernier calipers.
  • Perform basic quality inspections, including first-off and in-process checks.
  • Follow company health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Work in accordance with quality control procedures.
  • Load and unload materials from machinery.
  • Maintain material traceability throughout the production process.
