A well-established manufacturing business is currently seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join their production team. The role involves producing furniture components and finished pieces, working from technical drawings and using a variety of woodworking machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Working from technical drawings and specifications to produce a wide range of furniture components and finished pieces
- Operating both hand tools and woodworking machinery, including band saws, planers, spindle moulders, and sanders
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials with precision
- Assembling finished furniture and carrying out quality checks, identifying and addressing any issues
- Ensuring high-quality standards and attention to detail at all stages of production
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop
- Always adhering to all health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous wood machining experience is essential
- Experience using band saws and similar woodworking machinery
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
