Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for Support Workers for a national organisation that houses and supports young people with complex needs. The roles are based in services across the North East region, specifically in the Newcastle upon Tyne - Whitley Bay, Bishop Auckland and Tow Law area.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective day to day shift cover that supports the aims of the project, safeguards the young people and provides effective support within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework.
- Work from Monday to Sunday on an ad hoc basis, covering a mixture of early, late and waking night shifts.
The pay rate is £12.24 with £1.48 holiday pay, totalling £13.72 per hour. Interested candidates must be available for a minimum of 2 shifts per week across 7 days. Please note, this role involves lone working.
Requirements
- 12 months of paid experience of working with young people.
- An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health and substance use.
- The ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
- Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others.
- High level understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to maintain boundaries.
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
Further Requirements
- Current valid right to work in the UK.
- Minimum 12 months of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise).
- A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60).
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process.
