Job Description

Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a TST Caseworker, to work Pan London (North, East & West London). The service provides accommodation and a pathway to independence for former rough sleepers.\\n\\nThe successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 1 – 2 months.

The pay rate for this role is £14.85 per hour, with £1.79 holiday pay, totalling £16.64 per hour.\\n\\nPlease note: this is a hybrid working role which involves working in clients' own homes, across the community and occasionally working from home.\\n\\nIn this position, you will be required to:\\n\\n * Hold a caseload of 35 key clients and undertake regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART Support Plans that promote progression through the pathway\\n\\n * Complete comprehensive needs and risk assessments\\n\\n * Conduct interviews with prospective clients using a range of specialist assessment and personalised support planning tools to engage clients in the assessment and support planning process\\n\\n * Accompany clients to visits and other services where appropriate\\n\\n * Arrange and carry out formal case reviews that are client led and should predominately take place in the community.\\n\\n * Participate in taking Housing Benefit forms directly to the housing benefit office or upload online as needed\\n\\n * Work in partnership with other departments and external community agencies in order that client needs are assessed and can be met\\n\\n * Work with clients to identify activities that they would like to take part in to prepare them for independence and move through\\n\\n * Take part in running activities or small groups in response to identified client needs or as part of a project wide programme of group work\\n\\n * Support clients that are ready to move into work, education, or training by assisting them to access suitable courses or placements\\n\\n * Assist clients in making successful claims for welfare benefits, including Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support where necessary, and ensure that they are maximising their income\\n\\n * Deal with the immediate support needs of clients as appropriate, providing crisis intervention where necessary\\n\\nPlease note: this role involves lone working\\n\\nTo apply for this role, you must have;\\n\\n * Experience and understanding of the range of approaches appropriate to working with any of the following needs; mental or physical ill health, challenging behaviour, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and/or offending\\n\\n * A working knowledge of being able to support clients into supported accommodation and/or other floating support services\\n\\n * A demonstrable understanding of Housing and other related legislation\\n\\n * The ability to effectively liaise with a range of service providers and agencies in order to establish or improve services for clients\\n\\n * The ability to be self-motivating and work under pressure, manage time effectively, prioritise tasks appropriately and produce work of a high standard\\n\\n * The ability to motivate people to move towards an appropriate level of independence and inclusion\\n\\n * Experience of supporting clients to carry out tasks such as budgeting, calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears\\n\\n * Experience of working with vulnerable people presenting significant levels of need and risk, with an ability to devise and deliver on action plans through high quality risk management and needs assessment\\n\\n * A good understanding current of safeguarding procedures\\n\\nCandidates must confirm their interest as soon as possible, with interviews scheduled shortly after and the appointed candidate expected to start as soon as possible.\\n\\nFurther requirements:\\n\\nIn order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:\\n\\n * Current valid right to work in the UK\\n\\n * Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)\\n\\n * A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)\\n\\n * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process\\n\\nHow to apply:\\n\\nIf you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration.\\n\\n*Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
