Central Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced Support Workers to provide flexible agency cover across a range of supported accommodation and homelessness services for young people throughout the North East.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, mental health needs, substance misuse, and other complex support needs. You'll play a vital role in helping individuals build confidence, develop independence, and work towards positive outcomes.

We have a variety of shifts available to suit different schedules, including early, late, waking night, and sleep-in shifts, offering flexibility around your existing commitments. The pay rate for this role is £15.08 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).

Key responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality, person-centred support to young people
  • Promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive life choices
  • Supporting individuals within a strengths-based and recovery-focused framework
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment
  • Safeguarding vulnerable young people and responding appropriately to concerns
  • Completing accurate records and handovers

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience supporting young people with multiple disadvantages (paid, voluntary, or university placement)
  • Current valid right to work in the UK
  • Relevant sector experience
  • A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
  • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
