Central Recruitment is working with a prominent national homelessness charity, whose work includes supporting and accommodating young people. Our client is currently recruiting for a Service Manager to work in the Durham area at a service which provides a range of support to young people at risk of homelessness.
Job Details
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8AM - 8PM
- Usual working hours: 9AM - 5PM
- Temporary: approx. 3 months
- £20.28 per hour (£17.63 per hour, with £2.65 holiday pay)
- Please note: you will be based across two accommodation sites which have 5 units each, and 7 outreach flats.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Progression Coaches, Night Coaches, and Outreach Workers
- Build and maintain relationships with commissioners, stakeholders, and partner organisations
- Ensure building safety through risk assessments, health and safety checks, and reporting
- Liaise with internal departments to support effective service delivery
- Monitor and manage budgets in collaboration with finance leadership
- Deliver high standards of support for young people and effective housing management, meeting KPIs
- Apply Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles to support clients’ development and goals
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards, including Ofsted requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Experience leading teams, setting goals, and driving continuous service improvement
- Committed to developing and motivating staff through mentoring, coaching, and feedback
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, manage risks, and implement solutions
- Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders, including clients and external partners
- Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
- Data-driven decision-making using reports and KPIs
Further Requirements
- Current valid right to work in the UK
- Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years
- A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
